About Us

The aims and objectives of The Club are:
  • To offer excellent all-mountain ski coaching for skiers of all ages and abilities from a competent ability to use the main slope, through to intermediate and advanced levels
  • To provide excellent coaching and support to those of all ages and levels of experience wishing to compete in ski racing
  • To increase average attendance rates by retaining and growing the membership and increasing individual members’ attendance rates.
  • To make The Club a respected and integrated part of the sport of skiing nationally, in the North East of England and at Silksworth Ski Centre
  • To ensure that The Club provides a supportive, encouraging and enjoyable environment for members and their families, coaches and committee members
  • To ensure a duty of care to all members of The Club To provide all its services in a way that is fair to everyone
Thursday Training 
  • The club meet each Thursday at Silksworth Ski Centre training between 18:30 and 20:30 (allow 15 minutes to get ready)
  • Training costs £4.70 paid to the Ski Centre and £5 paid to the club (ask for a committee member in the viewing area at the bottom of the slope)
  • Skis, boots, and pole hire are included in the slope fee
  • Helmets are not mandatory, however they are advisable and you will see most of our members wearing them (note they are not available to hire please bring your own)
Minimum Standard
  • While we pride ourselves on developing skiers of all abilities, room on the slope and numbers of coaching staff limit the club to those who can already snow plough stop and turn in control from the top of the main slope, and can use the lift
  • For those wishing to learn to ski, Silksworth Ski Centre offer excellent foundation courses which allow progression on to one or all of the local ski clubs. For further information contact the centre directly Silksworth sports complex and ski slope
