Morning everyone

It is white outside again this morning while I type this weeks very limited news so lets hope for a little more snow and the World Championships are starting today :-) so get tuned in and watch some racing!!

Last week the wild weather put pay to the tigers sessions. I hope we managed to catch most people via facebook, email and text messages.

This week will be the last coached Tigers session (with a new coaching app to try out) until 28th February as all coaches are out of the country (sorry it is that time of year). However you can still pop to the slope for a recreational ski to keep things going. I know some members are planning to do that so feel free to go for it.

Some members have mentioned a Scotland trip. My diary is very full until beginning of April, however we can send another coach. If anyone wants to organise a date....feel free. I will attempt to organise some coaching or you could just go for a ski as a group of like minded people. Anyone want to organise a date??

Morning everyone
Well a good turnout last week on the snow covered hill at Sunderland. Some great work on edging on the nursery area and then some posture / balancing work on the man made jump. Everyone seemed to enjoy it!!
As I type it is beating it down with snow outside so who knows we might get another snow session on Thursday evening followed by one at Castleford on Sunday. Last day for names today!!!
Judging by soome of the facebook comments some of our members have skied locally on snow at Weardale, Cheviot and even Pegswood Heap. Wow great stuff!! There is also a nice little article on Amy Stokjoe in the journal. You can view this at http://www.journallive.co.uk/north-east-news/todays-news/2013/01/17/winter-weather-ideal-for-seven-year-old-widdrington-village-ski-girl-61634-32618087/
A few members have asked for new hoodies so i propose I do an order at the end of January. The order form is attached above. I am happy to get them printed on black or orange as a change please indicate which colour you would like.

Morning everyone
Another good session at Tigers last week. All coaches are back this week with some further stubbie work on offer.
Keep doing the snow dance and we could be experiencing some of the real stuff on Thursday. at the moment it is snowing heavily outside the classroom window :-).
Congratulations to Andrew Turns (our coach) who is now been offered the opportunity to coach and is off to Norway with myself for the first week of English Schools Senior Training. I am now also doing both weeks of the schools training in Norway. Unfortunately it will likely mean that there is no Tigers sessions for 2 weeks in February on the 14th and 23rd. However I will confirm that at a later date. It is obviously fantastic experience for both Andrew and myself so ultimately gives us even more experience of working with our national teams which all club members will benefit from.
A few of our members are off on there skiing holidays either as I write or very soon. Enjoy your trips everyone and keep working on those elements you have been using over the last few months.

Hi everyone.
What a great turnout last week at the club. Some great numbers and great skiing by all the participants.
Christmas is almost upon us so here are the plans!!
Thursday 20th December - Final club session of 2012. We will have mince pies , gluhwein and selection boxes so come on down for the final slide of 2012. The focus will be on fun, enjoyment, chatter and some synchronised skiing. :-) . The focus will be on fun, enjoyment, chatter and some synchronised skiing. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help get stuff. Your help is much appreciated.
Xmas snow training - Scotland 3- 5th January in a Scottish resort (probably Lecht and Glenshee) Cost approx 75 for the coaching for three days. Can you give me a rough idea on interest so we can start planning. I now only have 5 for this up to now. Anyone else please let me know as soon as possible. We could do with 10 to make it worthwhile but I really need to know by this weekend so we can make a decision to go or not. For your info the snow is fantastic. take a look on www.winterhighland.info and you can see for yourself and it is forecast to stay cold up there for the foreseeable future. This is going ahead snow dependant so you can add yourself to the list.

If anyone has any other dates they would like to organise then please let me know as we cannot suit everyone but would like to help if we can.

End of January bring and buy sale. Start getting your old kit ready. I think and do not quote me on this that it is 31st January 2013 which is a Thursday night.

See you Thursday for a slip and a slide.
Regards

Hi everyone

A much improved week weather wise last week saw more members attending although still fairly quiet but I know the Christmas rush is on for everyone. There are now just 2 sessions left until  the Christmas holidays are on so come on and get some last minute coaching.

20th December Xmas Club Fun Night (Selection Boxes, Mince Pies and the odd drop of jolly stuff :-))
Can I have some volunteers to get some Gluhwein (Hot wine), Mince Pies, Selection boxes and plastic cups. It is ok the club will reimburse you. However I would like to spread the load rather than one person doing it all. Any help will be appreciated

Good morning everyone

Another great Tigers session last week with some further work on adaptability and quick leg movement. I can certainly see the benefits of all your hard work so keep it up.

Winter is clearly upon us this week with colder temperatures, massive snowfall in the alps, states and Scotland also opened up last weekend with more snow to hit this week the New Year trip looks promising.

This week all 3 coaches will be with us and with the weather looking more settled although cold it is going to be a fantastic week for a slide.

Hi everyone

A quiet but nice session last week. The weather which probably put the whole club off attending was actually not to bad. Well we went home dry so that was great. I very good session working on reaction times. A lot of skiing went on for the attendees. Not much waiting around and some good progression being made.

Sunday saw a great turnout at Castleford. I have to say these sessions are thoroughly enjoyable for everyone and some great skiing and activity takes place. I have no dates for further ones but rest assured they will be back on soon. :-)

Early December - possible bring and buy sale. dates must be very soon so dig your old kit out

Hi everyone

A fantastic turnout last week again, and with winter hitting the alps and america big time those of you who have not dusted down the skis yet should do so.

Once again last week we worked on personal posture, the key to developing all mountain skiing is being versatile and adaptable. You are all on your way. Keep up the good work. This week more of the same, by the end of the winter, lumps, bumps, jumps and all mountain skiing will be yours!!!!

Dates for diaries

Evening everybody

Hope you all had a great half term last week.

I have not heard any stories from last weeks training so I assume all was well and Andrew and Fiona delivered another great Tigers session.

Previously we had great numbers and a session at Castleford which was well attended and some great ideas with me, 'telling it how it is,' as one of our members said. You know me, no point in beating around the bush.

Anyway enough said, the tigers sessions continue this Thursday again focusing on postural elements up till Xmas (not long now)

Niaill has once again been offered the opportunity to coach the English Schools Squad in Norway on 16th February 2012. So well done to him (or me)

Dates for your diaries

Now the bad news - memberships are due as off this week. The cost remains the same at 25 pounds per family. Please get a membership form from Richard and fill in the details. We will be taking membership money this week.

Hope to see you Thursday, for a slip and a slide :-)
