Sheffield Ski Village Fire.

posted 29 Apr 2012, 04:45 by Scott Maitland
Sheffield’s Ski Village building has been destroyed after fire broke out in the early hours this morning, which also destroyed the on-site Snow+Rock store.
A safety cordon is in place due to the suspected involvement of acetylene but due to the location of the site no residential properties have been affected. Fire crews could remain at the scene for up to 24 hours. The incident has now been scaled down to two fire engines.

This follows a separate incident 13 months ago when the fire brigade were called to a fire at Sheffield Ski village as a small blaze destroyed part of the ‘Adventure mountain’ area of the village.
There have been various fires at the centre over the years, usually laid at the feet of arsonists. We're sure there will be a full investigation in due course.
